We completed the design of this apartment in the Lace Market. The space comprised of two bedrooms with an en-suite and a separate bathroom; and an open plan kitchen and living area.
The apartment was located in a modern building and we took this into consideration when we put the design together. Unfortunately the whole space had not been touched in over twenty years and had become very dated. This meant that we had to redesign the whole space to have a brand new cohesive look.
Firstly, we started by ripping out the old kitchen but we salvaged the original granite worktop and adapted the new kitchen style to this worktop. In addition, we contrasted the frame of kitchen units with the cabinet doors to add depth and interest to the design.
We also added a kitchen island that mirrored the rest of the kitchen.
In the living room we incorporated a large rug that added a point of interest in contrast to the grey sofa. After this we moved to the master bedroom whereby we created a cosy feel with the bedding and replicating the play on colours from the living room with a grey bed and contrasting bedding.
The second bedroom was transformed into a home office in order to adapt to the current world wide climate.
The end result was a space that was relaxing but fun where the client can entertain as well as enjoying their downtime moments.
